Job Title: Collaborating, Learning and Adapting (CLA) Specialist

  • Duration of assignment: Up to five years depending on the candidate’s periodic performance (results)

  • Qualification:
  • Master’s Degree or above in Environmental Health, Health Monitoring and Evaluation, Public Health, Economics, Agricultural Economics, Water Engineering, Social Work, Development Studies or other related fields.
  • Experience & competence
    • Significant Knowledge management experience of diverse governmental and/or non-governmental (bilateral and multilateral donor) funded projects.
    • Experience in the design, development and implementation of Climate Resilient WASH program
    • Experience in monitoring and evaluation of Climate Resilient WASH program
    • Experience in preparation of Activity Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (AMELP) plan that outlines the approaches and resources for learning opportunities for adaptations, learning and collaborating.
    • Experience in taking the time to critically think about the activity (Learning)
    • Have a skill in strategic thinking and approaches in identifying the most critical stakeholders, particularly local ones, in achieving the desired development outcomes
    • Experience in identifying learning approaches and process that would help to fill the knowledge gap, and using those learning to change accordingly
    • Skill in Knowledge management in general and experience in use, management and documentation of WASH and climate data
    • Good understanding and programmatic experience on various cross cutting issues such as gender equality, private sector engagement, enhanced localization, conflict sensitivity, sustainability and environment
    • Experience in lowland areas
    • Experience in report writing that discuss progress against objectives, lessons learned, good practices and success stories
    • Experience in organizing training/workshop on WASH interventions
    • Very good communication interpersonal representation and negotiation skills
    • Very good ability in English, Amharic and local language.
    • Experience related to CLA, knowledge management, planning, coordination, monitoring and evaluation of USAID funded projects is highly desirable.
